Mobile Sports & Entertainment Group (MSEG) today announced they have partnered with Ward Performance Institute (WPI) to bring the Hank Aaron Summer Showcase to Hank Aaron Stadium. The Showcase will feature seven travel baseball teams from Mobile and Baldwin County and one from Tennessee and is one of many such tournaments MSEG has planned for the future.
“We are very happy to partner with Turner to bring this showcase here for the first time,” said Kevin Grimes, MSEG Vice President of Baseball Operations. “We have all worked very hard to bring quality events to The Hank and this event falls in line with that goal.”
“It’s great to be able to partner with Mobile Sports & Entertainment Group and, selfishly, to be able to be out here with my son, Olin. I’ve probably seen more baseball this year than I’ve seen him play in his entire life, so, selfishly, it’s just great for me,” said Turner Ward, founder of Ward Performance Institute. “These 15 - 16- year-old kids are at a time in their life where it’s time to make decisions if they want to go to the next level and it’s tournaments like this that help them get there.”
The first game is scheduled for Friday, July 24th at 9:00am and go through Sunday, July 26th with the championship game at 4:00pm. (Schedule follows.) Daily passes are available at the front gate for $10.00 or $25.00 for a tournament pass. Suites are available for $150.00 per day which includes 8 day passes. Kids 5 years old and under are free. Ward Performance Institute was founded by Turner and Tucker Ward. Turner is a former Major League Baseball player and coach. Tucker, his son, is a former professional baseball player and is currently an MLB agent.
